We Can All Create
We can all create. We are born to be creators. Here at eLuma, we’re trying to create things that change the world for the better — specifically in special education. Both our mission and vision statements suggest as much, and furthermore set our intentions. To many, our objectives may seem audacious, but I know in my heart that they will come to fruition. How? Because I can already see it.
Mindset Matters
Most people have heard of the law of attraction, visualization, positive conditioning, or have even practiced faith.
We all grow up developing a belief system that is shaped by our context, including living conditions, parents, family, friends, schooling, religion, TV, social media, and much more. This context is busy crowding our thoughts and shaping our mindset. Often, we become who our context predicts we should be.
- Have you ever thought you didn’t deserve something?
- Have you ever been told you can’t achieve something?
- Have you ever been bullied and come to believe what others say about you?
- Have you ever tried to accomplish a goal and you failed? And you said to yourself, “I knew I couldn’t; everyone was right about me”?
If you answer yes to any of these questions, you’re a product of your environment and the mindset subconsciously formed by your context. You’re like most people. We are all shaped by our environment; it’s inevitable.
Change Begins with Belief
The scientific law of entropy says there’s a “lack of order or predictability; gradual decline into disorder.” If we let this law govern our lives, the negative voices surrounding us will lead to our gradual decline into disorder and self-fulfilling prophecies of mediocrity, or worse yet, what everyone else is telling us what we can and can’t achieve.
For anyone to elevate their status, defy limitations set on us by society, or achieve greatness, we have to first create that greatness in our mind before we create it in reality. Once we create a detailed, tangible and undeniable picture of success in our minds, it might as well be a reality.
The Belief & Success Cycle
Look to Tony Robbins as just one example; I admire Tony and the work he’s doing. Tony Robbins has developed a 4-point belief and success cycle: Potential – Action – Results – Belief. Most people see some portion of their potential, take some action, get mediocre results, and then think to themselves, “I knew I couldn’t do it, but I guess I tried.” This is a sad cycle of self-fulfilling prophecy and a harsh reality for anyone trying to escape a bad situation, poverty, or mediocrity. Those who achieve huge success approach this process in the opposite direction: Belief – Results – Action – Potential.
Some people call this the law of attraction or putting it “out to the universe”. Others call it faith. Those who read the Bible know that God created all things spiritually before he created them physically. Those who practice the law of attraction, know that great things comes to those who focus on what they want; focus on it long enough, hard enough and it will be a reality at some point. “All thoughts turn into things eventually.” To be great in reality, we must first create the vision and then take massive action!
Build a vision in your mind and take massive action and it will become a reality if you’re persistent long enough.
