Teletherapy: a Viable and Long-Term Solution

  • Updated: March 31, 2020
From the financial and operational benefits to the do’s and don’ts, learn more about the benefits of teletherapy and what it is in this webinar.

In light of recent events, educators are facing an array of unprecedented challenges, through which teletherapy has emerged as one of the primary solutions to delivering services. It also has opened the door to new capabilities, efficiencies, and exciting future potential.

Nevertheless, many schools and districts remain skeptical and are reluctant to consider teletherapy despite its ability to more readily provide staffing and a growing body of research validating its efficacy. Beyond this skepticism, making teletherapy a viable and long-term solution DOES require a shift in thinking, commitment, and adaptation.

A Special Webinar

eLuma invites you to watch this special webinar entitled “Making Teletherapy a Viable and Long-Term Solution”, which features distinguished speech-language pathology researcher, Mary Andrianopolous, Ph.D., CCC-SLP and CEC Past President, Mary Lynn Boscardin Ph.D., CCC-SLP. In this webinar, they draw upon their decades of telepractice research to help special education leaders better understand the real value of teletherapy, and how it can become a viable and long-term solution for special education programs in schools and districts across the country.

The information presented in this webinar will help special education leaders better understand what is needed to ensure greater success. It will specifically address:

  1. Building a vision and process for teletherapy at your school/district (setup and logistics).
  2. The Dos and Don’ts of delivering teletherapy (including HIPPA & FERPA considerations).
  3. Incorporating EBP into teletherapy.
  4. Establishing stakeholder buy-in and how to implement a long term teletherapy solution.
  5. Financial and operational benefits to districts.
  6. Videos of actual teletherapy.
