Reflecting on Practices: Comprehensive Special Education Evaluations

This intermediate-level webinar is designed to help participants gain a deeper understanding of comprehensive special education evaluations. Participants will learn about special education eligibility and common diagnoses in the school setting and identify key terms for eligibility and evaluations.

Case studies will allow participants to explore real-world examples of various eligibility determinations.

Learning Objectives

After this workshop attendees will be able to:

  • Identify three questions to consider when determining eligibility.
  • List four common educational diagnoses seen in the school setting.
  • Define five key terms related to eligibility and evaluations.

Agenda

0-5 minutes:  Introduction

5-15 minutes: Special Education Overview

15-30 minutes: Types of Evaluations

30-50 minutes: Eligibility Considerations

50-85 minutes: Discipline-Specific Diagnoses and Case Studies

85-90 minutes: Q&A

Time for Post-Test and Workshop Evaluation

Course Completion Requirements

In order to receive a certificate of attendance and qualify for ASHA CEUs or NASP CEUs (if applicable), learners must:

  • Attend the course in its entirety as recorded by Zoom attendance records.
  • Complete the post-course survey and evaluation.
  • Complete a multiple choice test with 80% or higher and one retake opportunity.

FAQ

How do I indicate a special accommodation, request, or need?

If you have an ADA requirement question or request, please complete your registration and email eLuma Clinical Services at least 3 business days prior to the event at clinicalservices@elumatherapy.com.

What should I do if I need to cancel my registration?

Attendees who wish to cancel their registration, please submit a written request to the eLuma CE Program Administrator at clinicalservices@elumatherapy.com. If informed at least 24 hours before the webinar that the attendee cannot attend, attendees will receive a full refund of their paid registration fee. For cancellations made after this deadline but before the event date, a $15.00 service fee will be deducted from the refund. 

What if I am not satisfied with the course or I have a complaint?

At eLuma, we prioritize addressing any grievances or concerns raised by our attendees. We have established a procedure to handle grievances on an individual basis, ensuring that each matter is given proper attention and resolution. Our CE Program Administrator takes responsibility for managing and overseeing the grievance process.

In delivering our programs, content, and communication with attendees, eLuma is committed to upholding all legal and ethical responsibilities. We strive to maintain compliance at all stages of program development, during program delivery, and even in the post-webinar survey phase. We continuously monitor and assess our compliance to ensure the highest standards are met.
