Texas Educational Diagnostician Remote & On-Site Opportunities

The Educational Diagnostician is responsible for conducting special education evaluations, eligibility determinations, and providing support for the development of individualized education programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA, Texas Education Agency (TEA) regulations, and district policy. This position is delivered through secure virtual platforms, allowing for flexible collaboration with students, families, and school staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and re-evaluations virtually, using approved assessment tools and procedures.
  • Determine eligibility for special education services in alignment with federal, state, and local guidelines.
    Collaborate with teachers, parents, related service providers, and administrators via video conferencing and digital communication tools.
  • Participate in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) committee meetings virtually, presenting evaluation findings and recommendations.
  • Prepare clear, detailed, and legally compliant written evaluation reports and eligibility documentation.
  • Provide consultation and training to school staff and families on student needs, instructional strategies, and accommodations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA and district procedures.
    Stay current with best practices in online assessment, Texas special education law, and evaluation protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Special Education, Educational Psychology, or related field.
  • Valid Texas Educational Diagnostician Certification.
  • Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments and determining special education eligibility.
  • Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and Texas Commissioner’s Rules.
  • Proficiency with technology platforms for virtual assessment, secure file sharing, and video conferencing.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.

Preferred qualifications, but not required

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Familiarity with electronic IEP systems (e.g., eSped, Frontline, PowerSchool).
  • Experience serving diverse student populations, including rural and bilingual communities.
